Science Vokis are up!

By now, it's possible you've heard your own 3rd grader talking about our Vokis. We recently completed a unit of study in science where the students learned about organisms being dependent on eachother, how organisms compete for resources, how organisms interact with the environment, and how they adapt to survive.

We spent some time studying these ideas and doing activities, then the students selected an area we studied that interested them. The students wrote essays in story form about their subject - for example, if they selected animal adaptations, they would pick a specific animal, then write a "story" about why that animal had that particular adaptation to solve a survival problem.

After the stories were written, the students each selected their own Voki that they could style. They read and recorded their stories, and we posted them on their blogs. Now their Vokis tell their stories! Check them out on the student blogs - they are great and very informative!
