Battle Zone! Battle of the Books is February 5th

Battle of the Books is coming to Tok School elementary students on Thursday, February 5th at 10:00a.m. This is the district level battle, and will be held with other district sites via video conference, so the students will be at their own schools but can still see each other.

The 3rd graders who will be "battling" to show their knowledge of books are Jessie, Madison, Megan, Marrin, Melissa, Kiara, Kade, and Kevin.

We have been working hard at reading the book list this year - the third graders are noticing that the 3rd/4th book list is much more difficult than last year's 1st/2nd book list that they read. Lots of chapter books this year! Right now we are finishing Akimbo and the Lions, and still have a few to get through. We may not have all of the books read by battle time, but we will have read the majority of them, and the students know them very well!

We use a Battle Book practice wall in class - after we finish a battle book, we post it on the bulletin board. During reading time, battling students can practice with each other by pulling practice questions from the basket attached to the board. We also keep the actual books there, just in case anyone wants to do a quick review.
