iPods In Our Classroom

I recently made the switch in our classroom listening center to keep it a little more interesting. We have been using some books on tape with some old cassette players. This was working fine, except we only had about 20 books on tape and the kids have listened to most of them already. So we made the change - I have started downloading MP3 audiobook files onto my computer and putting them on an iPod. Now the 3rd graders can access a growing collection of audio books to follow along with. Pretty soon we are going to start recording our own so that we don't have to buy them and we can record whatever we want. We have been doing this with only one iPod so far, but just today I found a good deal on a used iPod on ebay so I ordered it. If anyone knows of those outdated but working iPods floating around, let us know! We will soon begin using them for more than just a book listening center activity...
